From the initial Relocation Services for our elderly mother to the actual Home Sale, we couldn’t be more grateful to Kip. Kip is a miracle worker! He managed to move our elderly mother out of her 5,000 square foot home in Santa Barbara to a 1,100 square foot condo in San Diego under very challenging circumstances and a tight move-in deadline.  As out-of-town owners, we had to rely on Kip to handle a multitude of complicated logistics and hands-on tasks.

Kip is an empathetic, patient person who understands how overwhelming it is for seniors to move out of their long-time homes. Our mother didn’t know how or where to start the monumental process of packing up all her belongings, so Kip had ongoing, comforting conversations with her about a downsizing approach by area. He spoke to her about the benefits of letting go while honoring her decisions about what she wanted to keep.

Despite the challenges of marketing the house during a pandemic, Kip provided extraordinary full service and comforting guidance every step of the way! His combination of local market knowledge, attention to detail, first rate marketing services, and responsive white glove service truly sets him apart. Kip fully supported us to make the home sale as easy as it could be.  We highly recommend Kip for all your relocation and real estate needs. He set the bar very high for us in any future transaction!”

I recently had the pleasure of working with the team of Kip Glover and Adam McKaig on a real estate sale for an estate.  I had known Adam McKaig personally for many years as I worked for his father – attorney George McKaig for almost 20 years when I first moved to town in the early 1980’s. I had also known Kip Glover through his Senior Relocation Services company where he helped me carefully and respectfully help downsize numerous clients. Recently, I contracted with them as realtors.

They successfully sold a difficult (not your traditional) real property for us for a price that made us, and more importantly our beneficiaries very pleased. Kip has brought his meticulous attention to detail and his integrity to his new career as a realtor working with seasoned realtor Adam McKaig (aka Adam of Adam’s Angels). I highly recommend them.”

We highly recommend Kip Glover and Senior Relocation Services for any or all of your moving needs. We engaged his services for our recent move from our home to a Senior Retirement Community here in Santa Barbara.

From our initial meeting, we were very comfortable with Kip. He provided a very clear general outline of his services along with recommendations for many things to think about which we had not yet considered.

Initially we engaged him to develop a floor plan for our furniture which enabled us to refine our plans for what items we could comfortably take to our new home. During this process, Kip was very sensitive to our concerns about having to give up many things that would not logically fit in our new home.

Eventually, we engaged him to handle our whole move, including scheduling the mover, packing our most important dishes and glassware, and supervising the move. Throughout the process, Kip was very organized in all aspects and continually gave us advice and suggestions which minimized our apprehensions and uncertainty.

A major kudo for Kip is his flexibility and ability to adjust to changing conditions. Two days before our move, we were informed that our expected apartment was not ready, and that we could move into another unit on a temporary basis. Kip instantly took control of the situation and made adjustments to our moving plan which minimized the negative consequences due to the last-minute change. He immediately developed a new floor plan and advised us on what items to leave stored and unpacked in order to facilitate the final move.

We engaged Kip to take care of our final move, and we were equally satisfied with the result.

Again, we recommend Kip Glover and Senior Relocation Services without reservation.

Kip Glover and his SENIOR LOCATION SERVICES made a huge positive difference to me this past year. I was faced with the requirement to relocate an 81 year old friend from Montecito to San Luis Obispo, moving from a 4000+ sq. ft. house to a 900 sq. ft. apartment in a senior living facility.

Kip was instrumental in helping us decide how many of which items and what furniture/personal items/kitchen paraphernalia/etc. could go. He played the sympathetic intermediary role perfectly, maintaining a balance of what could go to the apartment, what should be sold and what should go to storage. He touched all of the items involved from furniture to toiletries, taking into consideration wishes versus reality.

Kip’s packing was impeccable, his oversight of what was to go where (apartment or storage) when the actual move occurred was spot on. He participated in all phases of the actual move. When that was done he unpacked, placed, hung pictures, sheets on the bed, leaving the apartment absolutely move-in ready. Kip has the most incredible patience.

I would recommend Kip and his services without reservation, and specifically in the case of downsizing for the elderly. He made a difficult transition SO much easier and less expensive than it would have been without his help. Thanks, Kip!!

Kip Glover is a miracle worker!
He managed to move our elderly mother out of her 5000sf home in Santa Barbara to a 1100sf condo in San Diego under very challenging circumstances and a tight move-in deadline. Since we don’t live in Santa Barbara, we had to rely on Kip to handle a multitude of complicated logistics and hands-on tasks.

He was in touch with us at least once daily to keep us informed of his progress and next steps. We appreciated that he arranged for estimates from three different moving companies that he had worked with in the past. Kip created – and frequently updated – meticulous furniture floor plans that would allow my mother to get as much of her furniture as possible into her condo.

He then expertly packed and labeled boxes, color-coding them to identify which were to go to the condo and which would go to a storage unit. All his preparations made it a breeze not only for the movers, but also for the relocation company in San Diego, who used his floor plans to organize the furniture when it arrived at the condo.

Always diligent, conscientious and reasonable, Kip sent us detailed statements that accounted for every minute of his time. Since our mother wants to put her house on the rental market, Kip provided us with referrals for estate sale professionals, cleaning companies, property managers, etc., allowing us to compare services and get quotes.

We highly recommend Kip for all your relocation needs.

The decision to move into a an independent living residence was a fairly quick one. I met Kip on a Tuesday and we started our downsizing and relocation journey on that Friday – moving from a 3 bedroom and full garage home to a 1 bedroom apartment. Not having any family to help I was altogether overwhelmed and somewhat in shock about making this transition by myself. Kip took time to make me feel comfortable right from the start.

Over the course of a month Kip handled my full downsizing, packing, unpacking, residence liquidation and home closure, and all the logistics, including being there for me as an advocate (assisting with a variety of personal needs – from locating and guiding me through furniture purchases, to supporting me with new living residence questions, to file organization, to numerous errands and organizational tasks).

Kip is very resourceful, not just in his direct field, but in the many fields that he brings to the table. Kip knows the local community very well and helped me with a variety of transitional needs that clearly made for a less traumatic experience. In addition to always being sensitive to my needs, Kip was always dependable, even tempered, very willing to listen, always there to help, and always optimistic. I just couldn’t have gone through this without him. I can’t thank him enough.

I would certainly give Kip Glover my highest recommendation.

Sincerely,

As a senior and a recent widow, I knew the time had come for me to make my life easier by moving, after many years, from my condo to a retirement community. Relocating to a one bedroom apartment in independent living would necessitate considerable downsizing. Later, preparing the condo for sale would also be required. The prospect of all this with no family nearby to help seemed overwhelming. However, once Kip Glover (Senior Relocation Services) and I met for an initial consultation, I felt a sense of relief.

Kip put his experience and expertise to work at once, organizing tasks to prepare for the relocation. Following are some of the many things he accomplished for me:

We started off with floor planning, using measurements he had confirmed, as well as photos he had made of the new apartment (which was still occupied). These we referred to as we planned the layout. We discussed which of my furniture items I wanted to take, as well as some new purchases to be made; then he put all into a scaled computer drawing of each room. We went through numerous variations before settling on the arrangement that encompassed all my wishes.

Kip reviewed a number of online furniture sites as well as local stores to find specific furniture and other items I would need for the new space. He took the time to discuss with me the pros and cons of each piece to assure I would get what I wanted (file cabinets, desk, bookshelves, TV stand, flat screen TV and related audio/video equipment, and others). He often went with me to places he had reviewed so that I would have a chance to ask further questions and make comparisons.

In addition to the above, Kip suggested other items I might want for the new space, such as ceiling fans, additional grab bars, and a particular shoe rack. We also talked about flooring options and adding a shower door enclosure. He was of great help in obtaining the items, as well as in supervising their installation.

A major redesign of the walk-in clothes closet was a project Kip conceived and took on, analyzing what configuration of shelves and rods would make best use of space, while being sure the arrangement would be easy for me to use. After he had picked out the necessary materials, Kip then worked with the on-site installers, explaining proper placement of all, and providing the necessary measurements. The redesigned closet has proven to be a pleasure for me to use.

Throughout all the various tasks, Kip kept me up to date on the status of work as it was being done. He handled all potential problems quickly and efficiently; for example, some furniture pieces that had been bought online arrived damaged; Kip photographed both the packing and the items and facilitated the replacement.

When it came time for packing, Kip handled virtually everything, with amazing efficiency, and all arrived in perfect condition. He arranged for the movers and handled the overall move-day coordination, including arrangements so that I would be comfortable the first night in the new apartment. He assisted the movers with the placement of all the furniture, and personally unpacked and set up the kitchen, bedroom, living room, and closets, as well as the storeroom. (Prior to the move he had lined kitchen and bath drawers and shelves.) He also hung my various pictures and other items.

In addition to setting up the new TV and the related equipment (Cox DVR box, CD/VCR box, TV sound bar), Kip reviewed all the procedures with me. He also set up the computer, modem, and printer.

After the move was accomplished and it came time to get my condo ready to sell, Kip helped with a number of tasks: he replaced all the electrical wall plates; steam cleaned the large metal awning on the patio; and did some handyman work in the garage, including handling the hazardous and electronic waste disposal.

Kip also put me in contact with a wonderful realtor to sell my condo. In fact, Kip and he worked together on facets of organization for the showing.

Throughout all my dealings with Kip I found him to be completely trustworthy, efficient, and both talented and creative in planning and execution of all work. I especially appreciated his manner in easing the stress of the many decisions with which I was faced: he was patient, kind, and sensitive in helping me deal satisfactorily with a very large change in my life.

It would not have been possible for me to have the harmonious experience of this move and settlement into my new life without Kip’s invaluable help. I will always be grateful that I chose to put my trust in him. Certainly I recommend him highly, without reservation, to anyone who is faced with a move, large or small.

Sincerely,

We want to thank you for making a world of difference in our recent move.  You know how challenging it can be to make a move, especially for people like us who had taken 20 years and a life time to build up our collections and furnishings and memories.

Anytime anyone is thinking about utilizing your services please feel free to have them reach out to us and we will be happy to sing your praises.  What will I tell them?

Your calm and sensible support gave us help every step of the way.  Your leadership and management enabled us to sleep well during the pre-move and after move process.  I will tell them about your punctuality, your planning, your professionalism, your team and your attention to detail.  A+

We would share that at all times we knew we were in good hands.

You handled hiring subs, movers, making donations, our estate sale and our art.  You consulted on our layout in the new smaller home and you helped us have a move which was much less stressful for our family and our animals.  Your help in protecting our privacy, our property, confidential matters and our security was excellent.

We also loved your flexibility and that you were able to do so many things for us personally.  We knew we were in good hands and appreciate the referrals and the help, but most of all the peace of mind that you provided.

Thank you.

My wife and I want to thank Kip Glover (Senior Relocation Services) for the outstanding job he did in our recent relocation from a 5,000 square foot home to a 2,500 square foot home.

We had accumulated quite a bit of furniture and personal possessions in our thirty-two years in Santa Barbara.  We had to eliminate a lot in order to fit into our new, smaller home.  We did not look forward to this move.  It was an overwhelming prospect!

The smartest thing we did was to engage the services of Kip Glover.  Kip did the following for us:

  • Arranged an Estate Sale and took care of all the logistics.
  • Packed most of our belongings.
  • Got Moving/Storage bids and helped select the right company.  He saved us a considerable amount of money in the process.
  • Coordinated the actual move out of the old home and into the new one.  There was a period of ten days between moving out and moving in.
  • Assisted in the move into the new house, including directing the placement of furniture and possessions into the proper room.  He also assisted in the unpacking and disposal of empty boxes and packing material.

The bottom line is that Kip helped us make this difficult move much smoother than if we had tried to do it ourselves.

Kip is honest, organized, hard-working, and is easy to work with. We highly recommend him and the valuable service he provides.

Sincerely,
Jim & Marcia  4700 sf Montecito Estate to 2700 sf Residence

My experience with Kip Glover’s Senior Relocation Services was everything and more than I could have expected. He made what would have been a very traumatic experience as comfortable as possible. His help extended into all areas (packing, supervising movers, setting up cable services and so much more).

I would definitely recommended this service to anyone who is moving and knows that they need help.

Moving an entire home full of very delicate objects from Santa Barbara to an overseas destination can be a challenge and even more so if you’re a senior. Concerned that such a project might go badly, we contacted those who were in the know for advice. Result? We were told to call Kip Glover. Magically, what promised to be a task destined for disaster turned into a most satisfying experience indeed. Kip is fast, professional, meticulous and exceptionally well organized. Each packing session went like clock work; with each and every hyper-fragile item being quickly and expertly packed, stacked, identified and labeled for shipment. When each day was done, and Kip had left, it was as if no one had been in our home at all. If you are no longer thirty years old, and have to move delicate items of all types and sizes either across town or across the globe, do call Kip at Senior Relocation Services. My wife and I are certainly glad we did.

9 Months Later – In Spain

Just reporting in. As you know, all your packed items arrived here in Spain quite some time ago. They then sat in storage in Pamplona while our new home was being completed. During these last 3 days, we’ve finally been able to slowly unpack each packed box. Instead of finding a chore ahead of us full of unpleasant surprises, we’ve now spent several joy-filled days of discovery. Everything you packed back last fall with such care turned out to be extremely easy to unpack.   More importantly still, and as delicate and susceptible to breakage as many items were, everything arrived in absolutely perfect condition! That is, just as if what had been packed back in Santa Barbara, tossed into metal containers, thrown onto trucks, bounced across the Pacific and Atlantic for weeks at a time, then unloaded to be taken to Pamplona, had never gone anywhere. The perfection and care you took when preparing that shipment was exceptional. Those mega-delicate ships models, fragile clay sculptures and other extremely breakable items who’s future we (not you though) were so worried about, arrived unscathed. We can’t thank you enough. I guess that if one is a true professional in his line of work, he’s a true professional. Period!

Anyway, all is well here. You have two very happy ex-clients who, looking about their new home, find themselves surrounded by all the things that used to surround them thousands of miles away in Santa Barbara California just as if those items had never left Santa Barbara in the first place.

Sincerely,
Roger & Carmen

In the years facing a new lifestyle, the move to downsizing to enter a senior residence, is, to say the least, daunting. So daunting and full of unknowns one tends to put off the move – first to making the decision, then carrying out the plan on one’s own.  It seems simply too much.

In my case Kip Glover (Senior Relocation Services) with his expertise, and kindness and downright hard work made it happen. And so successfully. That’s because Kip is master of preparing every phase of the move, overseeing every detail, and let me repeat –with sheer hard work. Kip was unfailingly on time in every step of our move, and equally unfailing overseeing every detail, and I repeat again, sheer hard work only a strong man can do in getting rid of years of books and stacks of old office files while at the same diagramming the layout of my new one bedroom apartment.

With his thoroughness he followed through with special insights, for instance helping facilitate with the property management the replacement of the heavy venetian blinds at the entrance to the patio and front room with senior-friendly hanging veritcal blinds.

I repeat again, I cannot imagine this successful move without Kip’s detailed expertise and care taking the unknown and bewildering uncertainty out of a difficult and dreaded time getting me into my new home.  Thank you, Kip.

When my father-in-law suffered a stroke and needed to be moved into Assisted Living, my wife and I were 1000 miles away and not able to go to Santa Barbara to help. But we found some wonderful people there, including Kip Glover (Senior Relocation Services), who made the transition go smoothly and quickly.

Kip Glover handled not only dad’s entire physical relocation, including a lot of packing and unpacking, he shopped for and installed a number of creature comforts to make the new place a warm home. He then took care of the complete disposition of all unneeded household items, and arranged for a thorough, top to bottom cleaning of Dad’s place to get it ready for sale—even referred us to a very good realtor who quickly arranged a sale.

Kip handled everything easily and professionally, keeping us informed of the progress, and documenting all expenses. I can’t imagine that we could have found a more perfect person to facilitate this challenging relocation.

Without reservation, we can say Kip Glover (Senior Relocation Services) was a God-send.   After 35 years in their Santa Barbara home (with 65 years of accumulated belongings), we were moving my elderly parents to an assisted living facility in Virginia so we could oversee their care.  Two weeks before leaving to go out to help my parents, my husband had a heart attack.  While we had planned to have Kip (Senior Relocation Services) assist with some of the work, now we had to look to him to handle everything that we planned to do.

He was very professional and courteous in all his dealings with us and my parents.  He kept us informed of everything that he was doing (including keeping us in the loop with important day to day communication & logistics with my parents), e-mailed us photos so we could understand what was going on and comment on items that were of question, created floor plans for the Virginia assisted living residence, packed items carefully, donated or disposed of items, dealt with shippers that we had already arranged, closed up the house, and was available for our calls and inquiries about all matters.  He was very organized and accomplished all in a short time frame.  Everything arrived here in Virginia well packed and undamaged.  Kip coordinated and packed items that he personally transported by truck to my sister’s home in Southern California.  Additionally, Kip facilitated an estate sale with all the remaining items not moved or forwarded to family members. He even checked for mail until we were confident the change of address was working.

We heartily recommend Kip Glover and Senior Relocation Services to anyone needing senior relocation services. Again, our thanks to Kip for his time and many talents.

The purpose of this letter is to gratefully thank Kip Glover and Senior Relocation Services for accomplishing what I believed to be impossible … moving me from my home of more than forty years into an independent living residence. Due to my age and disabilities this move could not have been so seamlessly facilitated without you.

You supervised, coordinated, and communicated my needs and requirements with the independent living property in a very professional manner. The floor planning exercise helped me visualize my new apartment and make the essential decisions with you. You not only packed, unpacked, and thoroughly set up all my personal items but took great care and consideration in picking out existing furniture, as well as new furniture and other items needing purchased (bed, headboard, desk, chairs, cabinet, power lift recliner) that met my downsizing needs (and handling all the assembly/installation required).

You helped locate, acquire, and place so many additional items – bedding, shelf lining, rug liners, desk chair mat, mirrors, ceiling fans, paper shredder, clock, hamper, microwave, and miscellaneous organizational items. The family photo collage frame you put together was such a pleasant surprise! You were a life saver researching and expediting the purchase of the slow-down brakes for my 4 wheel walker that the local store could not get. You are a skilled craftsman. I so much appreciate your custom fitting my closet cabinet and all the other trouble-shooting.

You have a visual gift with many talents from choosing the item but also assembling it in a polite, unassuming, and effortless manner always attune to the client’s needs. My out-of-state daughter was able to share with me my new apartment and surroundings by the lovely photos and descriptions you emailed her after I got settled in to my new apartment.

Kip, you are a true gentleman. I trusted you to go through many personal files and reams of paper. You’ve been wonderful helping me set up all my new files. Without your help this task (moving and so much more) would never have been completed. During this stressful time it was my privilege and pleasure to know you.

It’s just a miracle I found you Kip. I highly recommend you to anyone who needs relocation, downsizing, or organizational assistance.

Thank you for being there for my mother when I could not. As you know I have attempted to be of help to my mother as much as possible with her move to independent living, however, it was challenging to assist her while living out-of-state with chronic progressive multiple sclerosis. You have been my legs, hands, and vision. This move could not have been facilitated without you. You are akin to a trusted family member who was there for my mother when I could not.

You have a wonderful way with people … especially “detailed oriented” individuals such as my mother. You have made her new apartment a beautiful home. All I can say is WOW! … what great photos! Thank you for emailing me all the photos – from my mother’s car parking spot, to her building entry, to her actual apartment entry and entire interior/exterior, plus the general campus layout photos (including the dining room, activity rooms, aquatic center, and beautiful lawns). I can truly get the “feel” of my mother’s apartment and overall property.

Mom just thinks the world of you! Thank you for your continuing care and kind consideration. You are a true blessing and I am forever grateful.

At Senior Living Consultants we work with some of the most vulnerable residents in Santa Barbara County.  As Senior Living Consultants we provide essential support and information to families as well as individual seniors when the health of the senior no longer allows them to live independently.  We were recently called in to assist a senior who was living alone and had no living family members. These placements are often a challenge because seniors who have no support system are overwhelmed with all that is involved with making a move to Assisted Living.  Not only do they have to move to a strange place but also have to part with a life time of family heirlooms, furnishings and often beloved pets.

The day we met with this lovely lady to help her decide on what type of Assisted Living Property she would be happy moving to we met Mr. Kip Glover (Senior Relocation Services) who was helping our client sort through a house full of personal belongings.  We were relieved to see that Mr. Glover had begun the process of helping our client determine what she could take with her, what she needed to donate and what she could sell at a garage sale. His system was extremely well organized which provided a great deal of comfort to our client.

Mr. Glover not only helped our senior prepare to move but facilitated the entire move day, set-up of her new apartment, and facilitated the home closure. We are happy to recommend Mr. Kip Glover and Senior Relocation Services to provide professional and compassionate Relocation Assistance to seniors in our community.

Recently I had the occasion to contact Mr. Kip Glover (Senior Relocation Services) who had been highly recommended to me as a person who could be invaluable in the organization and completion of complicated and wildly different tasks. Everything I asked Kip to do was done on time and perfectly – organizing, moving, packing, – including storing clothes, furnishings, paintings, precious and fragile “special” possessions.  All was done in a professional and highly efficient manner.

Kip’s personal manner was always courteous even when having to deal with some difficult people. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

During this past year it became necessary for my 91 year old mother to sell her home and relocate to an assisted living and then to a skilled nursing facility. This was an especially difficult process as my mother resides in Santa Barbara and I reside in Hawaii. I was fortunate enough to learn about Kip Glover’s Senior Relocation Services and he seemed made to order for this project.

From my first meeting with Kip and throughout a very difficult process he was nothing less than a lifesaver for all of us. The definition of professionalism, to me, is competence and reliability. Kip provided this and more – including his kindness and compassion. I would highly recommend Kip Glover and Senior Relocation Services to anyone who faces the challenges of helping their parents through a very difficult and complicated transition. When the situation seemed impossible Kip calmly assured all of us that he would handle it and he always performed.

What a wonderful job you did to help us move.  Without you it just couldn’t be done. Everything was well organized, moving out and moving in.  Our computers were all hooked up better than I could have done them myself.  In addition, all our personal stuff was far superior organized than any good moving company ever did and we have moved many times in the past ten years (seven times).

Thank you for being there and we hope you’ll be around in the future if we need you.

Kip recently had the opportunity to move his father into an “Independent and Assisted Living” residence — and he has since been inspired to further initiate this new venture of his – organizing and assisting similarly situated seniors in the oft daunting process of relocating.

Kip is a highly conscientious & sensitive individual – and particularly sensitive to his client’s needs. He is intelligent, trustworthy and of solid integrity, with a mature, communicative, and friendly disposition. He is highly competent and particularly dedicated and persevering in seeing through a job well-done. In this regard, his positive attitude and action orientation — along with his keen sense of resourcefulness and attention to detail go a long way in smoothing the process. He has superlative spacial / interior design / layout / woodworking & organization skills – and is highly motivated with a commitment to no less than a win-win outcome for all!

Not having Kip’s relocation assistance and overall advocacy, I perhaps would not have even considered such a transition. His floor planning helped me visualize my new apartment, while also creating a level of comfort and involvement for me. The organizational and handyman efforts he applied were remarkable — from the kitchen organization (drawers, counter top, amenities), to the office and computer set up, to the big screen entertainment system set up and cabinet modification, to the new memory foam bath mats and other bath amenities, to the placement and hanging of a variety of wall items. Additionally, Kip even prepared a nice notebook for me on the new property.

The stress with the thought of a change in environment to begin with was more than daunting, but the overall relief of the actual move was well worth it. My new apartment was all set with my familiar comforts, and expanded organization, and now even additional conveniences. The small touches throughout the new apartment made for a very comfortable start.

From the planning, to the packing, to the move coordination, and then the total unpacking and setting up, it was really amazing — a real orchestration of efforts.

I can highly recommend Kip Glover and Senior Relocation Services for those of you considering relocating or requiring organizational assistance. And if you don’t believe every word I’ve said so far,  then I urge you to find out for yourself — and get a trusted agent on board!
